Mawgan Porth is a beautiful, unspoilt beach on the north coast of Cornwall , nestled between steep grassy cliffs and backed by high sand dunes. Situated approximately 5 miles north of Newquay, it’s out of town location gives the beach a very laid back feel, perfect for spending a relaxing day by the sea.
At low tide, the fine golden sand stretches endlessly out and offers a perfect playground for all manor of beach activities. Rock pools and caves are are also uncovered just begging to be explored. Shallow waters are perfect for splashing around and RNLI lifeguards operate daily during the summer months to ensure safe swimming conditions.
If you fancy a break from sunbathing or you’ve forgotten your bucket and spade everything you could possibly need is right on your doorstep with facilities including beach shops, cafes and restaurants. Surfboard hire / lessons are also available.
For those who wish to explore the rugged Cornish coastline, the South West Coast Path runs right through Mawgan Porth and can lead you south along towards Watergate Bay or north towards Porthcothan offering spectacular views along the way.
