The village has two small rock and pebble beaches, separated by a small headland known as “the todden”. The larger of the beaches is home to the village’s fishing fleet where you can watch in fascination as the local fisherman come back with their daily catch, and ground their boats onto the sand in preparation to be winched onto the slipway away from the tide.
Walkers will be glad to know that the lizard peninsula has some of the most dramatic coastline in Cornwall, all accessible via the South West Coast Path from Cadgwith Cove, which can lead you to Kennack Sands beach to the West and Church Cove to the East.
Cadgwith Cove is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall, but please stick to the beach with the boats and the slipway, as the beach to the right with the steps has restricted dog access during the summer months.
Car Parking
Cadgwith has a large car park located on the hill approaching to the village. A narrow path leads you down through the cottages, taking approximately 5-10 minutes. This is unsuitable for wheelchairs and people who have difficulty walking. Access is available in the village to drop off / collect people.
